Vincent D. McBeth is President of The McBeth Group International (TMGI), an aerospace and defense technology consulting firm he founded in 2010 and is ushering through a period of significant growth and realignment.
Vince’s leadership philosophy and professional experience define the mission of The McBeth Group—to help leaders formulate solutions, organize resources and implement strategies that achieve desired outcomes. His personal consulting practice centers on the aerospace and defense industry, with emphasis on the maritime defense sector.
He served 22 years in government positions that included:
- Office of the President of the United States—White House Fellow to the Honorable George W. Bush.
- Office of the Secretary of Veterans Affairs—Special Assistant to VA Secretary, the Honorable Anthony J. Principi, and Deputy Secretary, the Honorable Leo S. Mackay, Jr.
- Office of the Secretary of the Navy—Director of Administration (and Aide) to the Secretary of the Navy, the Honorable Gordon R. England and the Honorable Richard J. Danzig.
He coordinated transition-related actions for the Department of the Navy during the 2001 Clinton-Bush Presidential transition, served as Transition Coordinator for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 2007, and in support of the Department of Defense for the 2009 Bush-Obama Presidential transition.
As a Naval Officer, he served on the personal staff of the following military officials:
- Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS)—Special Assistant for Strategy.
- Chief of Naval Operations (CNO)—Director of Strategy (N00Z) and Special Counsel.
- Vice Chief of Naval Operations (VCNO)—Special Assistant (N09V), Navy Special Project.
- Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (DCNO), Information, Plans & Strategy—Special Assistant.
As a senior advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Michael G. Mullen, he synthesized requirements, challenges, and opportunities into executable strategies. The Chairman credited Vince’s plans as having made his goals and objectives actionable.
As a Naval Surface Warfare Officer, he had Command-At-Sea as the Commanding Officer of:
- USS McCampbell (DDG 85), a Flight IIA Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer.
- USS Tempest (PC 2), a long-range insertion/extraction ship for U.S. Navy SEAL forces.
Service in five other warships, which included two Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, an Aegis cruiser, and two guided missile frigates, highlighted his naval career.
Vince holds the following academic degrees:
- B.S., Political Science, United States Naval Academy.
- M.A., Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, Tufts University (with Harvard University).
- M.S., National Security Strategy, National War College, National Defense University.
As a Lieutenant Commander (O-4), the President of the United States, the Honorable George W. Bush, awarded him the Legion of Merit. As a Commander (O-5), the Secretary of Defense, the Honorable Robert Gates, awarded him the Defense Superior Service Medal.
Mr. McBeth holds a Top Secret (Sensitive Compartmented Information) security clearance.
